Cheerala Vaari Ruchulu
Well! Didn’t expect this. This is one of those biryanis we see people selling along the road. Wanted to try them for a long time to see if they are worth it. So, today I went for it and bought a ‘Fry Piece Biryani”. The aroma is like any other biryani I eat at a restaurant, so that seemed like a good sign to me. Since this is a fry-piece biryani, they’ve provided four fry chicken pieces coated with masala gravy. A little more touch of salt to these masala-coated chicken pieces would have been better, but that’s all right! The chicken pieces although on bone, are not juicy, they are more on the dry side, but they are manageable. The biryani as a whole looks great. The rice has this beautiful colour as you see below. Looking great right? The long-grain rice is cooked very well. The rice itself is from Dum Biryani and they just added fry pieces to it and packed it(Yes, they provide Dum Biryani too. That’s it, just these two biryanis). Aaah! the main part: Spiciness. For my tastes, I expected more but this satisfies most people and the spiciness would be in their forte.
My expectations were, I would taste a different dimension to the usual biryanis we eat, seeing that the restaurant is named ‘Cheerala Vaari Ruchulu’ (translates to ‘Tastes of Cheerala’). But, it tasted regular and nothing special. It is good though. It definitely can satisfy our cravings, that’s for sure. I wont say it is a must try, but you can opt for it if needed on demand.
