Cafe Et Cetera

Good, unexpected, wanky, yummy, luscious, Et Cetera.

The location and lack of popularity could deceive you, but this place is good. The food is customizable, and the service is solid with a reasonable turnaround time for orders. There’s pleasant, soothing and classic trumpet music in the background. Not sure why I’m adding this, but there’s good parking space too 😜. However, there were a few drawbacks. A few flies were trying to disturb the experience, and the staff didn’t seem to be aware of the menu. They had no clue where the noodles were in the menu or what kind of noodle dishes were available in the kitchen, so I ended up giving them options.

I asked the manager why the restaurant had its particular name and about the overall vibe with all the phrases and decor. He struggled to answer and seemed to have no clue at all. Honestly, I didn’t expect that from the management.

Dragon Chicken

The portion size was great—six pieces, enough for two people. They were super crispy and crunchy, with a perfect mix of slight sweetness and plenty of heat. The chicken had a nice coating, and the spicy sauce was just right. The cashews balanced the heat nicely, and the whole dish was topped with coriander and green and red chili for an extra kick. I’d say MUST TRY!

Chicken tikka

The chicken tikka came with six pieces, each seasoned with good spice. Chicken pieces were very soft and got perfect ‘Tikka Burns’ 😆 on them. There was a balance I didn’t expect, and you could really feel the heat. The taste was hearty and definitely recommended. The pickled onions were a delightful surprise, pickled with salt, red chili, and a tangy masala, probably chaat masala, that make your mouth overflow with juices.

Singapore Noodles Cafe et cetera Chicken Noodles

I asked for Singapore noodles, but they brought regular noodles instead. Like when I’ve given them the options and asked for Singapore Noodles, they nodded ‘yes’ with confidence. But when the dish was brought to the table they were clueless when I explained what Singapore Noodles would be like. However, considering the taste, they weren’t half bad. The dish was filled with vegetables that were cooked yet still crunchy 😋, and the dish included golden chunks of coated chicken, egg, fried paneer, carrot strands, cabbage, capsicum, tomato pieces, and dried red chili. The dish leaned towards the sweet side, but all the ingredients were prepped pretty well.

Yeah! I definitely see myself visit again with my family and friends, twice or thrice 🤩.
